For this reason, we recommended avoiding public transportation whenever possible and instead choosing to book a taxi. Coronavirus Guidelines in the Taxi

The Dutch government introduced several guidelines for travelling by taxi. At Taxinet, we strictly followed these regulations to protect the health of both our customers and chauffeurs. We therefore applied the following safety measures:

• Our chauffeurs wear face masks
• If there are two or more passengers, we also ask you to wear a face mask
• Before each journey, we carry out a health check
• Whenever possible, we ask you to place your own luggage in the trunk, open your own door, and fasten your seat belt yourself
• We maintain a distance of 1.5 metres whenever possible
• We disinfect the interior of the taxi after every trip
• We ask you to book your taxi ride in advance whenever possible

Children up to and including the age of 12 were not required to wear a face mask.

A Taxi Is Safer Than Public Transport

Buses and trains usually have many more people in the same space than a taxi. Because maintaining a distance of 1.5 metres is often impossible on public transport, passengers were required to wear face masks. However, non-medical face masks do not completely prevent the spread of viruses. Travelling by taxi is therefore a safer alternative, as you only share the vehicle with one other person—the chauffeur.
